In Scandinavian mythology, the Näcken has similar links to the water-nixes of Germany - they possess the same shape-changing abilities, handsome appearance and affinity with water of their distant cousins. These rare Fairest - often subjected to a more physically torturous durance than many of their seeming and serving their time with those who do not share their seeming - have no siren song, but what they lack in voice they more than make up for with their mesmerising talents on the instrument of their choice. Traditionally, the Näcken play the violin, but in Arcadia, the choice of instrument that these changelings develop an affinity for can be anything except the voice.
The Näcken's blessing is the Musical Lure; by expending a Glamour point and playing their chosen instrument, the Näcken is able to draw any listener with Willpower 4 and below within hearing range to them. These individuals will be under the hypnotic thrall of the Näcken's music until they are neck-deep in a body of water or the Näcken ceases to play.
